Current responsibilitiesRicardo Mader is Managing Director of Advisory and Asset Management Services for the Americas Region of JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group.
Based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ricardo combines extensive hospitality and tourism experience with the global resources of the firm to help clients to plan, develop and execute their strategic business initiatives.
ExperienceWith over 30 years experience in the consulting field, Ricardo has developed comprehensive expertise in the hospitality and tourism industries throughout Latin America.
His consulting experience includes market research and analysis, facilities evaluation, financial projections, feasibility studies, development of marketing strategies and marketing plans, planning and development assistance, operational evaluations and management and franchise contract negotiations.
Prior to joining JLL, Ricardo was a Partner of HIA - São Paulo, Brazil, managing consulting assignments for international hotel companies such as Marriott, Starwood, Hyatt as well as other domestic organizations and providing asset management for assets in all hotel segments.
He held a similar positions as the Director of Horwath Consulting - São Paulo, Brazil. In addition, Mr. Mader was responsible for HIA´s annual industry report "Lodging Industry in Numbers – Brazil," detailing lodging trends in Brazil.
Education and affiliationsRicardo is a member of ISHC and is a graduate of the Business Administration School of Fundação Getulio Vargas, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He has undertaken further study in hotel management, strategic planning for the hotel industry, and consulting for hotels and related industries at the "School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University".
His professional training was supplemented by a formal on-the-job training program with an international consulting firm in the United States.
His education has been further enhanced by over 200 hours of professional course work, training, and instruction. He has been quoted in various industry publications and has been a guest speaker on numerous topics in hospitality and tourism seminars, including market analysis and financial projections and the state of the lodging industry in Brazil.
