In 2007 the Panamanian government passed a law which grants special tax incentives and benefits to multinational corporations establishing their Latin American regional headquarters in Panama. To date, 84 companies have relocated or expanded their regional offices in Panama, and the number of firms and employees arriving to Panama continues to grow. This phenomenon, along with the economic activity surrounding the Panama Canal expansion and infrastructure projects, is fueling the exponential growth in commercial construction.
